How to Meditate: Step-by-Step
1. Find a Quiet Space
Choose a calm space where you won’t be disturbed. It could be a corner of your room, your garden, or even a comfy chair.
2. Sit Comfortably
Sit on a cushion, yoga mat, or chair. You don’t need to force your body into a certain pose—just keep your spine relaxed yet upright.
3. Close Your Eyes & Breathe
Begin by noticing your natural breath. Let it anchor you in the present moment. Feel each inhale and exhale.
4. Focus Your Attention
Bring your focus to your breath, a mantra, or even the sensation of your body. When the mind wanders (and it will), gently bring it back.
5. Be Patient & Kind
Meditation is not about “emptying the mind.” It’s about gently observing your thoughts without judgment.
6. Start Small
Begin with just 5 minutes a day and slowly build up. Consistency is more important than duration.
7. Use Guided Meditations
